Dieter F Uchtdorf Second Counselor, First Presidency
Conversion of Saul to Paul
We testify the same thing has happened to Joseph Smith Jr.
However, some believe that unless they receive an angelic testimony they cannot believe.
Faith is walking into the darkness of unknown believing the Lord will light the way.
Knowledge of Christ becomes as a puzzle, each piece is small and you don’t know how it all fits together, but as we figure it out through our lives we see as we finish the puzzle and look back and see that along the way of putting the puzzle together Christ came.
DO NOT BLOCK OUT THE SPIRIT, IF YOU BLOCK IT OUT YOU WILL EVENTUALLY NO LONGER HEAR IT.
Strive to be among those that the Lord can rely on and to follow His promptings.
RECOGNIZING THE VOICE OF THE LORD
Our spiritual promptings are not only for ourselves but also for others.
I WILL CONTINUE MY SPIRITUAL BLOG! ON robbiedelight.blogspot.com
We have a covenant responsibility to reach out, bless, and uplift those around us.
By becoming the answer to other’s prayers we become or find the answer to our own.
He share’s the word with those that will SHARE it.
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT SHARING THE GOSPEL AND CHANGING RELATIONSHIPS WITH FRIENDS, IT IS A MESSAGE OF GREAT JOY.
Share the good news across all of our technological to use our hands to blog and text message our gospel across the world, at the right time and at the place.
The best way to share the gospel is by example
If we are joyful and at peace in the world, others will want to know why.
Preach the gospel at all times and sometimes use words
Blessed are them that have not seen, and yet have believed.
He offers peace, comfort to those who honor Him and walk in His way.
This Church is lead by HIM the SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST
Do not wait too long on the road to Damascus.
Paul V Johnson of the Seventy
Affliction is part of our mortal experience
These are to be a trial of our faith.
These trials do not just test us, they allow us to put on the divine integrity
NO Experience is time wasted, it can build our character.
It is through sorrow, suffer, toil, and strife that we have come to experience.
Being GOOD is not enough
We want to be like Christ who went through the Atonement, and suffered for all of us.
We can only see the views when we make the climb.
The darkest times in our lives come just before we see wonderful blessings.
Mothers know the challenges of labour precede the miracles of birth.
Challenges prepare us for future wonders and problems
No matter how grievous, it brings fruit of peace and joy
Our time of affliction is but a moment in our lives.
We do not seek our trials and tribulations our time in life will bring them and those will be enough.
Christ himself had the ultimate suffering before he could receive eternal life and resurrection.
Growth cannot come by taking the easy way.
An athlete needs rigorous training to be an Olympic champion
DO NOT RESENT YOUR TRIALS THAT ARE MOLDING YOU FOR THE BETTER
Who so ever puts their trust in God shall be held up through trials, and will be exalted
We want the Lord to say WELL DONE THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.
Through their helped we can overcome all trials
H David Burton Presiding Bishop
Will this buy me any bread?
April 6, 1936 Heber J Grant, J Ruben Clark, and David O McKay announced the Welfare
J Ruben Clark said the Welfare is the manifestation of the Holy Ghost to President Grant.
A system to reach out to take care of people no matter what the cost, he would stop seminary, close temples, stop missions for a time, HE WOULD NOT LET THE PEOPLE GO HUNGRY.
As long as the church has resources, we will not let you go hungry, unclothed, and be unsheltered.
The Lord will designate how this should be done, and he has
Personal Responsibility and Self Reliance are keys to our Welfare
Help People help themselves.
Avoid debt, avoid thrift, prepare for distress, listen and follow living oracles, distinguish between needs and wants then live accordingly.
We cannot reach eternal life without taking care of others.
The Great King Benjamin taught the reason we serve others is so that we can walk perfect and spotless before God.
We pray for kind, virtuous societies were goodness and righteous will abound.
HELP ALL THOSE YOU SEE, if you do not you are under condemnation
LOVE AND CARE FOR YOUR NEIGHBOORS
PUT ON THE YOLK OF THOSE WHO SUFFER
Rescue the dear and desperate saints
Echo Squires in remembrance of the circumstances of her birth, in the snow.
Robert Taylor Burton fell ill and he said, “Be kind to the poor”
The WELFARE PLAN is not an interesting footnote; it is the essence of who we are.
THE work of caring for one another and being kind to the poor is a sanctifying work.
Congregational Song: Let us all press on
Silvia H Allred First Counselor Relief Society General Presidency
Serve Self, Family and Other
The day the Relief Society is the day the poor and needy will change forever
They will dry up the tears of the orphan and will make the widows heart rejoice
Strengthen the communities.
Rejoice at the opportunities you have to serve others, which saves souls
Our Principles have not changed over time
Love needs to be our first priority when we serve
Continue to build faith, strengthen home and family
No matter where the ward, branch is or the size we can still build others
WILLINGNESS TO SERVE
Heavenly Father loves us and knows our unique problems. And he often fulfills our needs and blesses us through other people.
Service helps us become true Disciples of Christ
That others needs may be met, faith strengthened and hearts be full of joy and love
David A Bednar Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Experiences with light
Like when you enter a dark room and turn on the light; what had before been unseen became recognizable instantly.
The light form the rising sun does not immediately burst forth, the light steadily increases as it diminishes the night. IT was a subtle and gradual increase of light.
SPIRIT OF REVELATION and HOW IT IS RECEIVED
The Holy Ghost is a revelator and no man can receive the Holy Ghost without receiving revelation
Sincere desire and worthiness invite the spirit into our lives
Ask in Faith, with an honest heart, believing they would receive
Revelation comes as thoughts and feelings into our hearts by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Holy Ghost is a voice of perfect mildness.
Consider seriously how we can reject the devil’s enticements and increase revelation in our families.
The Father and his revelation for us comes upon us as the sun comes over the horizon, it is gradual and sometimes we do not see it at first, and we do not realize what is good all at once, it comes over time.
The Father showed me the truth by line upon line and over time. He did not have to send an angel or a trump by the still small voice he gave me the testimony that I have. --And they will come to know the Lord in His own time.
If you go forward with faith and love the lord then you are doing just fine.
Sometimes the sun rises on a foggy or cloudy day, and discerning when the sun comes up is difficult. Just so, sometimes we receive revelation and we do not realize or notice we are receiving it.
Are we walking in the light on a foggy, cloudy day?
We may not see angels, hear voices, but we can press forward with faith receiving nothing but a joy in heart.
We can walk with confidence that God will guide our steps, and will inspire our utterances.
The spirit of revelation is real.
Song: Have I done any good
Thomas S Monson President - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
His ward with 84 widows
The Welfare Program is inspired of All Mighty God,
This is 3 years since he was sustained President of the Church
A joy to dedicate and rededicate the temples
October 1902 President Joseph F Smith wished we would have temples all over the world for the convenience of people all over the world.
1980 - 115 Temples built, 26 Temples under construction or preconstruction stages.
Make it as accessible to members as possible
Story of sacrifice of members to cross the Amazon 2500 miles away a 7 days journey there and then another 7 days back to get to the temple
Story of another family with no money for airfare to travel to the temple. After 4 years they had saved enough money to go to the Temple and were sealed together forever. And then another 2 years of back breaking labour to get a beloved married daughter and grandchild to go to the temple.
Temples are more than stone and mortar, they are built on trials and testimonies.
They are sanctified by sacrifice and service.
They labored 40 years to build the Salt Lake Temple
Why are so many willing to sacrifice so much to get the blessings of the temple.
No struggle is too difficult, never too many obstacles to overcome, too many discomforts to attend. WE SHOULD ALWAYS GO TO THE TEMPLE; IT IS WORTH EVERY SACRIFICE AND EVERY EFFORT.
Your sacrifice is to visit the temple regularly if you live close enough to the temple
SET ASIDE THE TIME AND ATTEND.
If I want to make my ancestors proud then I need to work now to work to the temple and serve others so that I am prepared to serve them when I learn of them and be ready to serve.
Regard your temple recommend as a sacred blessing of which it is.
You have not obtained all the blessings there are to get.
ALWAYS HAVE THE TEMPLE IN YOUR SIGHTS, DO NOTHING THAT WOULD TAKE YOU AWAY FROM IT.
If parents had in every bedroom a picture of the temple
“I love to see the Temple” it is a song
In this sacred sanctuary we will find peace; we will be renewed and fortified.
One temple will rise in a city which came into being over 2500 years ago, The temple in Rome, Italy.
Each temple stands as a beacon to the world.
Each temple is an expression of our testimony
Make whatever sacrifices are necessary to have the spirit of the temple within our homes.
